CompAir Rotary Vane Air Compressors

The Hydrovane series rotary vane compressors are versatile, powerful, reliable and cost effective. They can be found in trains, ships, engineering, distilling, brewing, packaging sites and in large and small industrial units through the world. In fact they are the perfect business solution to your requirement for reliable, high quality compressed air.

The low noise operation of the Hydrovane air compressors means that they can be installed right alongside your equipment. Most models are available either as open units or fitted with enclosure panels which further reduce noise levels.

The design concept
The well proven combination of the Hydrovane compressor directly driven by an Eff1 energy efficient electric motor.

Auto-idle further increases efficiency by reducing off load running costs to less than 3% of full load power.

Manual operation is also available for users with constant air demands where a continuous supply of constant pressure is required.

HV07
The rotary vane principle

he key to the success of the Hydrovane compressor is the unique rotary vane principle.

The compressor operates at a very low speed providing total reliability and long component life.

The rotor, the only continually moving part, has a number of slots into which fit sliding vanes that ride on a film of oil.

The rotor rotates within the stator. During rotation, centrifugal force extends the vanes from their slots, forming individual compression cells. (See HV07 pictured left)

Aircentre HV05
Integrated Compressor and Dryer

Aircentre - Combined compressor and dryer

the HV04 to HV07 Range (see HV07 Above) is also available as an integrated compresssor and dryer, a compact ready for operation packaged Aircentre.

This benefits from a small footprint and is easy to install, transport and relocate, fitting through the size of a standard doorway, with a single connection for compressed air and easy connections for power.

Matched to the compressor the dryer unit is capable of delivering air dried to a constant pressure dewpoint of 3oC with no requirement for a refrigeration control valve, avoiding readjustments. With air quality and dryer reliability assured, the dryer unit switches off once dewpoint is reached and comes complete with large easy to change air filters which combine with an inlet moisture separator to guarantee the best performance possible.

Turboscrew
Significant Fuel Savings

Turboscrew solution to energy wastage

The CompAir patented turboscrew design is a compression system with a radically new approach to energy conservation. It uses a Cummins turbo assisted engine powering a new CompAir screw compression unit with the addition of a second engine exhaust gas driven turbine pre-compressing the suctioned inlet air before it enters the compression chamber.

The technical advantages are:

  • Two stage compression with intermediate cooling
  • Recovery for air compression of 5% of engine power expended in exhaust heat.
  • Better synchronisation of engine speed and air intake valve response to air demand over a wide output. At outputs below 60% of maximum, compressor torque requirement reduces at the lower rotor speeds while torque of the Cummins engine increases at reduced so that further fuel is saved.

Overall benefit

Significantly greater compressor speed range and air delivery in which the turboscrew compressor efficiently. Fuel savings of up to 28% compared with conventional compressors of this size representing up to 20% of total lifetime costs.

New Extended Range
The Turboscrew range has now been extended to seven models

The two new models are the C210TS-12 providing 21 m3/min of air at 12 bar delivery pressure, and the C230TS-9 giving 23 m3/min at 8.6 bar.

Other models in the range comprise of the C160TS-12 providing 16m3/min of air at 12 bar delivery pressure, and the C180TS-9 giving 18m3/min at 8.6 bar. These models have a shorter length and less width, in both tandom and heavy duty single axle form, they are designed for easy on-highway towing by van or 4 x 4.

These compliment the C190TS-9 (21.0 m3/min at 8.6 bar), C200TS-10 (20.0 m3/min at 10 bar) and the C190TS-12 (19.0 m3/min at 12 bar).
